Frequently Asked Questions

We love questions and value open communication. Here’s what we’re often asked.

What is holistic chiropractic care?

We focus on you as a whole person – mind, body, and spirit. We believe in finding the cause of health issues and addressing them instead of treating or simply covering a symptom. We take into consideration lifestyle habits, nutrition, stress factors, toxicity, mobility, water intake, mindset, the health of your nervous system, and anything that may affect your wholeness and wellbeing.

We are not a pain based clinic. If you’re looking to walk in on your first visit, point to where it hurts, and get adjusted without x-rays, we are not that. We provide thorough corrective chiropractic care, create a plan specifically designed for you, and encourage you to create habits that serve you well. We believe being empowered with natural health knowledge is vital to everyone’s health journey.

Do You Accept Insurance?

As of January 1, 2023:

After 10 years of being in network, we made the decision to part ways with insurance for a few reasons.

  • We truly value clear expectations and transparency. By being out of network, we are able to clearly outline our pricing so patients may budget and plan accordingly.

  • Our care plans are designed for you and your specific needs, not by what your insurance will cover.

    • In general, insurance companies are not designed to cover preventative or wellness services. Medicare sets the bar for insurance coverage. Their guidelines state that services which “prevent disease, promote health, prolong and enhance quality of life…and prevent deterioration of a chronic condition” aren’t “medically necessary” and therefore are not reimbursable.

    • Fortunately for our patients, our services do indeed promote health and enhance quality of life. Unfortunately, insurance and our health care system (which is often a sick-care system) do not recognize our services as necessary.

We do serve patients with Medicare, simply as a non-participating Medicare office. Removing us as the middle man, Medicare will make any eligible reimbursements to patients directly.

For those who desire to file for reimbursement yourself, we will gladly provide you with the necessary documentation. We also accept HSA and FSA forms of payment.

We know insurance can be confusing and frustrating. As always, we welcome open and honest conversations about finances. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. We are here to help as best we can.

What is your pricing like?

We believe in clear expectations, transparency, and open communication. Because care plans are personally created for each and every individual we provide care for, each plan will vary in recommendations and price.

At your second visit, a team member will go over your personalized recommendations, outline all costs, answer any questions you may have, and help you choose a payment plan. All plans include progress evaluations ($41), may include any necessary x-rays ($35 each), and may include recommended home rehab equipment (up to $250).

Adult Corrective Care Plans

This is the first phase of care for new patients at Twin City Health. After this phase, patients typically transition to Wellness Care (see pricing below) to maintain their health.

Plans typically range from 12 to 30 adjustments depending on needs at $72 per adjustment. We offer varied interest-free payment options. Monthly payments for extended payment plans can reflect, on average, between $400 – $600 per month.

Prenatal Care Plans

Prenatal adjustments are $72.

The number of recommended prenatal visits will vary depending on the trimester you’re in, baby positioning, and if any symptoms are present.

Pediatric Care Plans (infant – 12 years)

Pediatric adjustments are $46.

You may choose a pediatric plan membership option that includes unlimited, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

When should I expect relief?

Everyone is different. Some people experience relief after one adjustment. More difficult cases can take up to 6 months to see changes. We are on your team and will walk you through the process, providing progress evaluations and encouragement along the way.

While we absolutely desire you to feel better, holistic chiropractic care focuses on ensuring your body is communicating as it should so it can heal itself. Chiropractic allows the body to function at a higher level, even when relief hasn’t been experienced yet.

Does getting adjusted hurt?

The chiropractic adjustments we provide are specific, gentle, and effective. Our doctors have over 20 years of combined experience, countless hours of training, and have provided over 100,000 safe adjustments for adults, children, and infants. For adults, some soreness may be experienced as your spine begins to move in ways it hasn’t in years – similar to muscle soreness when beginning an exercise routine. Symptoms for adults can get worse before they get better as your body goes through the process of healing.

I’ve heard once you start getting adjusted, you always have to go back. Is this true?

We believe no one should ever feel pressured, trapped, or forced into any type of practice or activity done for the benefit of your health. We focus on the nervous system, structural correction, and addressing the cause which allows the body to heal itself. We do believe life-time chiropractic is absolutely beneficial. The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics reported that “patients who went to DCs (doctors of chiropractic) as their primary care providers had 43% decreases in hospital admissions, 52% reductions in pharmaceutical costs and 43% fewer outpatient surgeries and procedures.” We have hundreds of patients who chose to continue getting adjusted year after year because they experience the benefits of strong immune systems, less sickness, better sleep, more energy, reduced symptoms, and overall better health. We also have patients who get adjusted for a specific issue, experience releif, and decide not to move forward with a wellness or maintenance plan. We high five, let them know we’re thankful to be part of their health journey, and make it clear we’re available with open arms should they ever need care again. We hope you forever take care of your nervous system and overall health, but ultimately, you are in charge of making your own health decisions. We always desire to be on your team and to encourage you along the way.

Why do children get adjusted?

Infants benefit from chiropractic care for breastfeeding problems, reflux, colic, issues with crawling, standing or other movements. Children can experience relief from ear infections, immune system response issues, headaches, scoliosis, delayed speech, asthma, constipation, urinary incontinence, and digestive issues.

Chiropractic adjustments for kids focus mainly on increasing the function of the nervous system. This is crucial to brain and nerve development, the immune system, behavior, balance, sleep, posture, and so much more.

I’ve recently had x-rays elsewhere. Can I use them?

As a holistic based office, we are on your team and don’t want to expose you to more radiation than necessary. It is your responsibility to bring a disc or have your x-rays emailed to us at least 24 hours before your consultation. We will recommend x-rays only if necessary during your consultation.

Will I get adjusted on the first visit?

Usually, yes! Your first visit includes a short tour of our office, a mobility exam, any necessary x-rays, a consultation, and an adjustment with one of our incredible doctors. Before you leave, we will schedule your x-ray review / recommendation visit. Your second visit will not include an adjustment.

What should I wear?

Anything you are comfortable in that allows movement. Work clothes are completely fine. We do provide blankets if you come in a skirt and prefer more coverage.

I’ll be traveling on Silas Creek, how do I get there?

We are located on Goodyear Drive, off Harper Street. We do not recommend taking the ‘shortcut’ over Silas Creek traffic. Instead take the Country Club Road exit to Harper Street.

If heading north on Silas, take the Country Club exit and turn RIGHT at the stop sign onto Country Club. Turn LEFT at the Harper Street stop light and make your first LEFT onto Goodyear Drive SEE MAP

There is a ramp located on the right facing side of our building. Follow the sign if you need help. When leaving our office, turn left on Goodyear, and turn right Harper Street to get to Country Club. Go straight to take Silas Creek South. Turn right and make another left to take Silas Creek North.

Have another question?

We value open communication. Please don’t hesitate to send your questions.
We’re always glad to help.
